As part of the efforts aimed at the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage in Algeria, the translation department of the faculty of letters and foreign languages, in collaboration with the interpretation center of the Algerian traditional heritage museum, organized on Monday, November 20, 2023, a first national symposium on "Translation and its role in the valorization of tangible and intangible heritage in the light of current identification conflicts", chaired by Dr. BENAISSA  Ibtissem .The event took place at the Mohammed Dib-Imama Library.
This meeting took place in the presence of the dean of the Faculty of Letters and Foreign Languages, Pr. Hadjoui Ghouti, and the Wilayal authorities.
The colloquium aims to highlight the importance of translation in the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Algeria and define it for the world, as well as its role in the documentation and transmission of this heritage in the midst of the challenges facing Algerian cultural identity.
Recommendations and proposals closed this colloquium in order to activate the role of scientific research and translation and strengthen cooperation between the various actors concerned with heritage issues to make a global strategy for the preservation of Algerian cultural identity and the protection of authentic heritage for intergenerational generations.
